SUMMARY:

The Sales Representative uses independent judgement to oversee all aspects of STAR Sanitation sales and customer service at assigned specific branch. This individual will sell delivery of portable toilets and service in and around the area. Ensures excellent customer service through the timely and accurate delivery of services, including delivery of rental orders and the management of price negotiations and quotes. Resolves customer issues, referring them to the Office Manager, when appropriate. Oversee all aspects of sales, marketing, business development plans and customer service at assigned specific branch for STAR Sanitation.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

OPERATIONS:

  • Use Company provided systems/tools to fully document, track, record, follow-up and capture all related sales activity in a timely and accurate manner. Use of the system should contribute directly to the proposal process, winning the sale, volume, territory awareness, participation, and customer satisfaction
  • Initiates and supports the development and execution of marketing plans
  • Coordinates and implements marketing communication projects in special events, advertising and public relations
  • Updates and maintains the STAR website with current and relevant information
  • Identifies ways of leveraging social media to drive brand awareness and generate leads
  • Develop a keen awareness of the competition and competitive products, as well as business and industry trends
  • Assisting in coordination of customer appreciation events
  • Business development focused on commercial accounts, maintaining the existing customers account base, and preparing bids and presentations
  • Coordinate logistics for all trade shows

CUSTOMER SERVICE:

  • Communicates with supervisor and staff in either written or verbal form in a clear, professional and efficient manner
  • Maintains a positive and professional working relationship with peers, management, and support resources, with a constant commitment to teamwork and exemplary customer service
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by management in a professional and efficient manner
  • Accountable for timely follow up on each sale to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Coordinate pickup and delivery of portable toilets as needed
  • Assures Star rentals are serviced or replaced quickly in the event of a breakdown or other problem
  • Coordinate and/or conduct field demonstrations as well as operate portable toilets at customer work site

  • Proactively seek and participate in available company-sponsored training, in an effort to develop and advance knowledge base and skill set
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by management in a professional and efficient manner
  • Required to maintain a valid Class C driver’s license and a good driving record (if authorized to drive by HR Manager)
  • Must be eligible to be added to company insurance

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • At least 2 years of experience in Sales, Marketing or related area
  • Familiar with standard sales and marketing concepts, practices, and procedures
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills required
  • High level of organizational skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or Communications a plus but not required

COMPUTER SKILLS:

  • Must be computer literate in Microsoft Office Suite

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

  • Ability to respond to basic inquiries and present information effectively to customers, co-workers, and management verbally and in writing

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

  • Ability to apply math concepts to practical situations

REASONING ABILITY:

  • Ability to define problems, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions

  • Work time is split between the office, shop and yard in a variety of weather
